Middle School
Distance Learning Plan
-
Given the current state of public health as of July 2020, LVUSD will start the school year in a full distance learning format.
-
The distance learning format will be on a different schedule from the on-campus schedule in an effort to maximize instructional time from not needing to cohort students.
-
Students will have regular and consistent virtual instruction with their teachers. The students will be using district-adopted curriculum.
-
The schedule for distance learning and total minutes are provided below. In order to fully understand the tables, please note these definitions:
-
Live instructional minutes include teacher whole group interaction and instruction, small group instruction and one-on-one instruction.
-
Asynchronous instructional minutes include teacher pre-recorded lessons and videos, as well as the use of tools such as Flipgrid, Seesaw, Lexia, Khan Academy, etc.
-
Independent instructional minutes include student individual and/or small group work on assignments, projects, and reading during school hours; academic work may extend beyond the student’s school day.
